Carelle Homsy, born in Cairo in 1968, is a distinguished Egyptian artist. Graduating from Helwan University's Faculty of Education in 1992, she embarked on her artistic journey in 1989, participating in the Youth Salon and group exhibitions. Her first solo exhibition at Cairo Atelier in 1992 marked a significant step in her career. As a member of the Artists' Union, Cairo Atelier, and Futuristic Nostalgia, Homsy's impact extends internationally, with notable works featured in group exhibitions worldwide. Her latest solo exhibition, "Symphony of Life," at Zamalek Art Gallery in 2019 showcased her artistic evolution. Homsy's art has garnered attention globally, including a notable acquisition of her painting "Egypt, Freedom" in London's Saatchi Museum. Her creations also found places in esteemed collections like the Egyptian Museum of Modern Art and the Fund for Cultural Development. Impressively, her oil-painted portrait gifted to Pope Francis is displayed in the Vatican, while one of her pieces resides in actor Jim Carrey's private collection.
