She later earned her PhD in Art Education from Helwan University in 1978. Zeinab Al Sageny is one of the few Egyptian female artists of the third generation of contemporary art movement, a style that is as unique as it is versatile. Mother and child represent the main fundamentals in Zeinab Al Sageny'spainting, expressing feelings of innocence, love and generosity. The setting is always Egypt in its rawest and beautiful form: The Nile, the mountains, the beach; further emphasizing her Egyptian identity. Zeinab’s inspiration stems from an intermixture of a spiritual nature, drawing its source from the reverence of Coptic icons, alongside the wonders of the Islamic miniatures, which was her specific field of study.
