Overview

Egypt (b.1942) Mostafa El Razzaz is a painter, sculptor, printmaker, art critic, Art Consultant for the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Professor of Design in the Faculty of Education, Helwan University one of Egypt’s eminent artists. Born in Egypt in 1942, he received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from the Higher Institute of Art Education in 1965 and 1972 respectively, and his Ph.D. from New York University in 1979. Razzaz was the founder and Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education for Arts, Music and Media, served as president of the General Organization of Cultural Palaces in Egypt from 1997-99 and is currently President of the Egyptian Society of Folk Art. Following his first exhibition in 1966, Razzaz has held more than 100 local and international solo and group exhibitions in Egypt, other Arab countries, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America.
